The Co-Operative Erasmus was a research project on co-operative teaching and learning. It involved schools from three different countries. Romania, Italy and ourselves, representing Ireland. It looked at various different teaching methodologies and at how they work best for the teacher and learner. It researched different methodologies of teaching and learning – such as station teaching and group work and looked at the various benefits for the learner in the short term and the long term.  The project looked at teaching one particular lesson on citizenship and each country taught and shared their own lessons. This was a very rewarding experience for all children and teachers involved as they got to showcase their own school and also observe how other schools learn in different countries.
