6th class made lovely posters today in pairs focusing on literal and inferential thinking in English.
To celebrate space week 5th class did individual projects. This activity facilitated teaching their peers facts ranging from individual planets, dwarf planets, the sun, moons, galaxies, the black hole, astronauts, comets, asteroids, stars & constellations to many more interesting facts. Their projects were colourful and interesting. Well done 5thπŸ‘.

5th class researched how the Great Famine affected the people of Birr and the surrounding hinterland. They did written presentations of their findings.
3rd Class learned all about 2D Shapes this week. #activelearning #mathseyes #mathstalk
6th class students spent over two weeks working on their projects on Crinkill Barracks. They could work on their own or in groups. They put in a huge effort and today they presented their work to their classmates. Well done 6th on your brilliant work.
4th Class enjoyed making beautiful African sunsets this week with Ms. Darcy. Incorporating the use of silhouettes and colour to make the perfect picture πŸŽ¨πŸŒ‡πŸ¦’

3rd Class spent September learning all about their local area. In History we learned all about Crinkill Barracks, the cemetery and we even visited The Soldier's Garden. In Geography we walked around the village to spot local street signs and local buildings and monuments so we could draw our own maps. #crinkill #birr #mylocalarea.

Wrapping up September with a busy week! We had fun learning about our 5 senses, tasting yummy popcorn and making Mr & Mrs Potato Head! 🍿 We also created lovely autumn leaves this month and drew amazing self portraits! 🍁 🎨✏️ A great start in Senior Infants!
